How to Apply

We welcome students from diverse backgrounds to join our vibrant academic community. Our application process is designed to be simple and straightforward, allowing you to take the next step toward your future without unnecessary stress.

To apply, you must fill an application form online via the website and pay the application fee as directed or purchase the form at the front desk of the university campus at McCarthy Hill, Accra.

Important: Applicants must attach the following documents to their completed application form:

  • Photocopies of all relevant certificates.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs (taken within the last year).
  • References from two referees.
  • A brief statement of intention outlining your goals and reasons for applying.

Admissions Requirements

A1. Level 100 / First-Year Student (Degree Program)

To be admitted as a first-year student, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • SSCE Holders: Grade A – D in three (3) core subjects and three (3) elective subjects.
  • WASSCE Holders: Grade A1 – C6 in three (3) core subjects and three (3) elective subjects.
  • GCE ‘A’ Level Holders: Three (3) subjects (with at least one pass at grade D or better) and credit passes (Grade 6) in three GCE ‘O’ Level subjects, including English, Mathematics, and a Science subject (for non-science students) or an Arts subject (for science students).
  • ABCE Holders: Passes in three (3) subjects (with at least one pass at grade D or better) and credit passes in five (5) subjects, including English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, or Social Studies in the GBCE.
  • Baccalaureate: Accepted for francophone students.
  • Mature Students: Applicants aged 25 years or older with two years of relevant work experience, who have passed GCE ‘O’ Level, SSSCE, or their equivalent, or who pass the mature students’ entrance examination and/or an interview.
  • Awaiting Results: Applicants who are awaiting results may apply with the support of their Senior High School (SHS) transcripts.
  • Non-Tertiary Diploma Holders: A two-year non-tertiary diploma in a related field.

 

A2. Top-Up Level 200 / Second-Year Transfer Student (Degree Program)

To qualify as a second-year transfer student, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A two-year tertiary diploma with an academic transcript from an accredited institution.
  • Transfer from another university (with an official transcript).
  • ICM diploma certificates (2 or 3 years) with SSSCE/WASSCE aggregate 24/36 or better.

 

A3. Top-Up Level 300 / Third-Year Transfer Student (Degree Program)To qualify as a third-year transfer student, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • A degree in any discipline.
  • A three-year (advanced) diploma, such as HND, Diploma in Business, etc.
  • Completion of foundation stages in ACCA, ICA, ICS, CIMA, etc.
  • Transfer from another university with a strong academic transcript.

 

A4. Tertiary Diploma (All Programs)

  • SSSCE/WASSCE with at least an aggregate of 26/38 or better.
  • GBCE with three (3) passes or more.

 

A5. Non-Tertiary Diploma

  • SSSCE/WASSCE results.
  • SHS education with supporting testimonials from previous schools.
  • Holders of NACVET/NVTI or other professional certificates.

All programs are certified by the University of Education, Winneba.

Tuition and fees

We are committed to providing quality education at an affordable cost. Our tuition and fees are structured to ensure that all students, both local and international, have access to the exceptional academic experience that J.U.C offers.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Currently, J.U.C does not offer scholarships or financial aid because our tuition is priced competitively and affordably to serve our students.

However, as our finances evolve, this is subject to change. We also offer feasible payment plan options, through our finance department once the student has submitted proof of significant financial need and has been authorized by the office of J.U.C’s president.

Students are encouraged to apply for external scholarships and financial aid. International students are encouraged to apply and make appropriate arrangements, prior to departing their home countries.
